Our next plan was Sholighur. But unfortunately program
got cancelled because more than 1000 steps to claim in hill and temple closes
very soon in the evening (Around 4.30pm). So we targeted to Dhanvanri peetam.
On the way we had lunch in the highway side.
Reached Dhanvendri peetam at 4.40pm and rain started once
we step in. A Temple is coming up for Lord Dhanvantri (the God of Medicine) on
a three-acre land at Keezhpuduppet, two km from Walajapet bus stand on the
Walajapet-Sholinghur Road in Vellore district. It will be unique as the only
deity in it would be the Moolavar (presiding deity), Lord Dhanvantri.
Mantra : "Om Namo Bhagavathe Vasudevaya Danvantraye,
Amritha Kalasa Hasthaya, Sarvamaya Vinasanaya,
Thrailokya Nathaya,Sri Maha Vishnave Namaha."
The mantra means that Lord Danvantri, the incarnation of
Lord Mahavishnu (the God of the Three Worlds), would provide the `Amirtham'
(nectar) and protect his devotees from all kinds of diseases. .
The Mantra Pradhishtai was on November 28. It was
preceded by Nakshatra Homams, performed for all the 27 nakshatrams (stars) for
Lokatshemam (global welfare), followed by Dhampathi Pooja (worship by couples)
and Gho Pooja (cow worship).
The presiding deity has already travelled to 64 places
where homams were performed and the devotees were given the opportunity to
worship the Moolavar before the construction of the temple.
The temple has been designed by Ganapathi Sthapathi, the
highlight being the 42-feet-high gopuram, while the Moolavar has been sculpted
beautifully by Lokanatha Sthapathi. The Adhara Peetam (pedestal) would be
placed above a copper tube around which the mantras are placed in the basement
beneath the imposing 15-feet-tall sanctum sanctorum.
